Convert Images to PDF

This wraps images into a PDF, one page per image. It is how photographs of documents become a filed record, which matters because a folder of loose JPGs is not a document.

How to Convert Images to PDF

  1. Upload your images.
  2. Put them in the right order and set page size.
  3. Convert, then download the PDF.

When you would use this

  • Turning phone photos of a document into one filed PDF.
  • Assembling scanned photographs into an album.
  • Submitting image evidence as a single attachment.

Things to watch for

Set the order before converting

Images become pages in the order listed. Photographs named IMG_1001 to IMG_1012 usually sort correctly; mixed sources often do not.

Photographs of documents benefit from cropping first

Phone photos include desk, shadow and background. Crop them before converting, or crop the PDF afterwards.

The result is not searchable

A PDF built from images contains no text. Run OCR PDF on it afterwards if you need to search or copy the contents.

Watch the page size

Very large images produce very large pages. Set a standard page size such as A4 if the document will be printed.

Choosing the right tool

If the images are photographs of paper documents, the fuller path is Image to PDF, then Crop, then OCR - which turns a set of phone photos into a searchable record. If several photographs were scanned together on one sheet, Detect and Split Scanned Photos separates them first. And if you already have PDFs rather than images, Merge PDF is the tool you want.
