It stores books, journals, theses and manuscripts with digital preservation in mind, manages structured metadata so every item is catalogued properly, and provides full-text search across the whole collection. User and access control governs who may view, download or contribute, which matters when a collection mixes public material with restricted holdings.

BatchOCR turns large volumes of scanned images into searchable, editable text without processing files one at a time. It runs across whole folders, supports multiple languages, and can split combined PDFs into separate documents in the same pass. This is the step that makes a scanning backlog usable: until a scan carries a text layer it cannot be searched, indexed, or read by any document system.

It creates barcodes in multiple formats, automatically and in bulk, for tracking physical files through scanning, separating batches at the point of capture, and indexing documents as they are processed.
