Put Several PDF Pages on One Sheet

This places several pages side by side on one larger sheet, the layout printers call N-up. It is used for proof sets and handouts, where the point is to see many pages at a glance rather than to read each one in detail.

How to Put Several PDF Pages on One Sheet

  1. Upload the PDF.
  2. Choose how many pages to place on each sheet.
  3. Apply, then download the new layout.

When you would use this

  • Printing a proof sheet so a scanned batch can be checked quickly.
  • Producing a compact handout from a long slide deck.
  • Halving the paper used for a reference print.

Questions

How many pages can go on one sheet?

Common choices are 2, 4, 6, 9 and 16. Beyond four, text becomes hard to read at normal print sizes.

Does this change the original page size?

The output sheet keeps its size while the original pages are scaled down to fit.

Can I reverse it?

Not automatically. Keep the original if you need the full-size version later.

Need this at scale?

These tools handle one document at a time. When the job is thousands of files, Greenbooks handles document digitization as a managed service, including bulk scanning, OCR and metadata capture, with the output loaded into DocuVenta DMS. Talk to us about volume work.
